West Ham are considering a surprise move to sign former Arsenal and Manchester City winger Samir Nasri, according to reports.Nasri is a free agent after serving an 18-month drugs ban, and the Hammers are reportedly keen to bring the Frenchman back to the Premier League.2

Everton have also been linked with an interest in the midfielder, who is not a popular figure at former club Arsenal after he forced his way out of the club to join rivals Man City.The 31-year-old won two Premier League titles during his career with the Blues and, according to the Daily Mirror, manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to bring his experience to the London Stadium.Pellegrini is on the hunt for reinforcements when the January transfer window opens to bolster his injury-hit squad.The West Ham boss is currently without the likes of Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanches and Jack Wilshere.And those injuries have had a a huge effect on the clubs early season form, having claimed just three wins from 11 games, and Pellegrini wants to further improve his squad in the New Year to ensure they are well clear of a relegation battle.2

Controversial star Nasri has a history of upsetting fans and team-mates with his behaviour, having first fallen out with Arsenal supporters when he left to join mega-rich Man City in 2011.He won two Premier League titles and the League Cup in five seasons at the Etihad, before falling out of favour and spending a year on loan with Sevilla.He then signed permanently for Turkish outfit Antalyaspor in 2017, but he ended up making only eight appearances, scoring twice, before mutually terminating his contract in January.Then, in February, he was hit with an initial six-month ban, which was later extended to 18-months, for breaking anti-doping rules through receiving an intravenous drip in 2016.
